Job Description:
A Clinical Nurse Manager is required for an established nursing home in Kerry. This nursing home offers an opportunity to play a crucial part in a dynamic and forward-thinking company which provides fantastic support.
Position: Clinical Nurse Manager
Reporting to: Director of Nursing
Qualifications:
1. Registered Nurse with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland).
2. Strong knowledge of HIQA standards, the Health Act 2007, and associated regulations for older person care.
3. Minimum of 1 year experience as a Staff Nurse.

5. Demonstrates leadership by example in providing excellent care.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Supervision: Provide professional and clinical leadership within the unit. Supervise qualified and unqualified staff, maintaining a safe working environment. Lead infection control initiatives and manage infectious disease protocols.
2. Operational Management: Support the Nurse Manager in unit management and deputize in their absence. Take charge of the unit, ensuring safe staffing levels. Complete notifications to relevant authorities in the Nurse Manager's absence.
3. Quality Care: Deliver evidence-based nursing care. Monitor care to ensure the well-being of residents.
4. Policies and Procedures: Adhere to policies, standards, legislation, and codes of practice. Contribute to the development of unit policies, quality improvements, and health and safety standards.
5. Training and Education: Ability to organize continuing education, guide, and assess staff performance. Lead orientation for new staff and act as a preceptor for students. Encourage personal and professional development.
6. Communication and Teamwork: Facilitate good communication within the Team.

Job Requirements:
1. Qualified Nurse with at least 3 years Management experience in the last 6 years in care of the older person.
2. Post registration management qualification in health or a related field.
3. Proven track record in healthcare clinical management.
