We are seeking an experienced Senior Metrology Engineer to join our team at Waterford's leading pharmaceutical/medical device manufacturer.

This is a new role for the company, offering an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to put their stamp on the company and the position. You will have two Calibration Technicians reporting to you.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a live manufacturing plant that operates in any industry.

Responsibilities
* Assist in identifying emerging instruments and metrology technologies, gathering requirements, evaluating technologies, and making recommendations for new technologies that can provide a competitive advantage in measurement.
* Provide direction on IQ/OQ/PQs, gauge R&Rs, correlation studies, and regressions of instruments/equipment.
* Provide knowledge on the setup and operation of all metrology equipment and assist in technical guidance and fault diagnosis.
* Identify best practice procedures for instruments and metrology equipment setup, maintenance, and calibration.
* Assist in developing requirements/specifications to procure and support validation activities in line with business needs.
* Develop calibration procedures.
* Conduct data analysis, investigate issues, and perform follow-up corrective and preventative actions.
* Participate in putting systems and procedures in place to ensure GMP compliance regarding calibration records and documentation.
* Participate in quality audits regarding calibration, ensuring the area is audit-ready.
* Support the site internal audit program.
* Ensure all reporting and data trending commitments are met.
* Liaise with external vendors to ensure standards are certified to B&L requirements.
* Liaise with project teams regarding new technology introduction, technology transfer, and process transfer.
* Troubleshoot metrology issues and actively participate in establishing new calibration procedures for new equipment and making recommendations for changes to existing equipment.
* Support, guide, and train employees on instruments.
Requirements
* Third-level qualification in science or engineering, with specific metrology qualification as an advantage.
* 3+ years of experience in a technical position.
* Statistics/Six Sigma qualification desirable.
