In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
* Support the preparation of monthly financial and management accounts.
* Support in the management of Primark’s intercompany stock/creditor cleardown process.
* Maintenance of Primark’s intercompany interest schedules.
* Ownership of entities for periodic management accounts reporting to ABF plc.
* Ownership of periodic intercompany recharges process.
* Supporting the OpEx team with periodic accruals.
* Assist the Financial Accountant with weekly treasury accounting postings.
* Support the Balance Sheet Reconciliations team by ensuring a thorough review and capability to explain the movements in the key critical accounts framework.
* Preparation of monthly intercompany confirmations across the group and external parties including reporting on and reconciling of intercompany balances and mismatches.
* Ensure proper books and records are held in all jurisdictions and are in accordance with local requirements (tax, accounting, legal etc).
* Any other tasks and ad hoc projects as required by management.
We are looking for an ambitious self-starter with a positive attitude, committed to pursuing a career in accountancy and a desire to progress within the organisation. Some industry experience and a passion for Retail would be an advantage. You should have a deep understanding of accounting principles such as IFRS, and local GAAP for the countries in which we operate. You must be able to work in a systematic and organised way, with attention to detail and strong financial and analytical skills. Strong presentation and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities. English is essential, and other European languages would be an advantage.
