Job Title: Mechanical Technician
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Technician to join our R&D site in Limerick.
About the Role
The successful candidate will support the Mechanical & Test team with design verification and validation activities, reliability testing, root cause analysis investigations, and test fixture development.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide lab and project support through fixture development, testing, and reporting, as well as general documentation.
* Generate or assist in generating product development documentation (e.g. Test Methods, Test Protocols, and Test Reports) using appropriate technical writing.
* Maintain accurate data records and present data in a reportable format and concisely communicate technical challenges and recommend workable solutions.
* Assist in the installation, validation, and maintenance of R&D laboratory equipment.
* Participate in technical review meetings, as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar (e.g., Mechatronics, Manufacturing, etc.) acquired through apprenticeship or 3rd level education.
* Industrial experience in an R&D environment is preferred.
* Familiarity with laboratory equipment (e.g. analytical balances, vernier calipers, micrometers, pressure sensors, and other metrology equipment, Instron UTM) is preferred.
* Proficiency in typical office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
* The ability to prioritize and multi-task, work independently in a laboratory environment with minimal supervision.
* Good verbal and written communication with all levels of technical and operating management.
What We Offer
This role is initially a 12-month contract, based on site 5 days per week, and is a Junior role. If you are a recent Graduate with some Co-Op experience or up to 6 months - 1 year relevant experience, then this role may be for you.
