Senior Editorial and Communications Executive

Ibec, the group that represents Irish business, is inviting applications for a Senior Editorial and Communications Executive. The deadline for applications is 10th January 2025.
Role Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Editorial and Communications Executive to support with enhancing and streamlining communications with our members, ensuring they are relevant, impactful, and aligned with our core audiences' needs. This role will take a holistic approach to communications by connecting key themes with Ibec's services and offerings, while maintaining a high editorial standard across all outputs.
A key responsibility will be to establish and manage a new e-zine for members, delivering the latest news, services, initiatives, events, and research in a way that is relevant and engaging. This role requires a strategic approach to communication planning, ensuring all messaging is aligned, timely, and integrated within the broader context of our organisational priorities.
The successful candidate will also oversee the development and management of an organisation-wide editorial calendar, ensuring timely and effective communication planning and coordination with internal stakeholders.
You would be a good fit for this role if you are a strategic thinker, an excellent copywriter as well as having a strong passion for content and email performance, reporting, and analytics.
Key Activities & Responsibilities:
* Establish and manage a member E-Zine:
o Develop and launch a new e-zine to provide members with timely and relevant updates on news, relevant topics, initiatives, events, and research and related Ibec services.
o Plan, curate, and oversee content, ensuring alignment with members’ interests and organizational priorities.
o Coordinate the e-zine’s delivery schedule in the context of other communications to avoid overlap or saturation.
* Streamline member communications:
o Ensure member communications are audience-centric, resonate with key stakeholders, and align with strategic goals.
o Monitor and refine communications to improve clarity, relevance, and impact.
* Holistic communications approach:
o Develop strategies to connect Ibec’s strategic themes with its services and initiatives.
o Collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure a consistent narrative.
* Editorial Calendar Management:
o Create and maintain a centralized editorial calendar for upcoming strategic themes and related activities.
o Share the calendar with key stakeholders to support proactive and timely planning of org wide initiatives including events, media management and campaigns.
o Manage editors and contributors for articles and content for communications.
* Email communications oversight:
o Ensure email campaigns and newsletters meet a high editorial standard, with clear, engaging, and audience-specific messaging.
* Stakeholder coordination:
o Work closely with internal teams to align communication efforts across departments – e.g. Public Affairs, Press Office and Marketing for media partnerships planning and content marketing, the Digital team for website planning, Membership Services team and the wider Ibec staff for member engagement.
o Serve as the editorial point of contact for strategic communications initiatives.
* Performance tracking and reporting:
o Define and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for communications activities.
o Provide regular reporting and insights to inform and improve communication strategies.
* General marketing communications:
o Provide general editorial support for key marcom initiatives, including case studies, use cases, social media, collateral and web content - ensuring accuracy, consistency, coherence and adherence to Ibec’s writing and brand style.

Qualifications, skills and experience
* Required Skills and Experience:
o Proven experience in editorial, communications, or content management roles.
o Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and consistency.
o Strong understanding of audience segmentation and tailoring messages to specific groups.
o Experience managing and implementing editorial calendars and communication strategies.
o Familiarity with email marketing platforms and performance analytics.
o Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
o Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement.
* Desirable:
o Experience in a membership-based organisation or B2B communications.
o Familiarity with Ibec’s services, strategic themes, and target audiences.
