Communications & Media Officer
The Abbey Theatre seeks a Communications & Media Officer to develop and execute communications campaigns, growing the organisation's brand presence through traditional media. This role involves driving connections with various stakeholders, including the board, staff, theatre community, Department and Arts Council colleagues, media, supporters, and donors.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute impactful media campaigns to represent the Abbey Theatre's plays, artists, visiting productions, events, and activities nationally and internationally.
* Proactively secure national, regional, local, and specialist coverage of Abbey Theatre productions and events through media outreach and relations.
* Answer media queries and provide statements on behalf of the Abbey Theatre.
* Arrange and attend press conferences, media interviews, photoshoots, filming sessions, and other related events as required.
* Brief theatre-makers, Abbey Theatre spokespeople/staff for interviews and public appearances.
* Oversee media attendance at opening nights of productions, including stewardship of guests and red carpet photography.
Digital Media:
* Collaborate with the Digital Engagement and Communications Officer on certain tasks.
* Draft copy for social and digital media.
* Schedule and send social and digital media content.
* Propose engagement strategies that positively impact the growth of the Abbey Theatre's online community, in line with key strategic plans and programming outputs.
* Occasionally support in delivering creative marketing campaigns.
Corporate Communications:
* Deliver corporate campaigns for the organisation, including leading on the delivery of the Annual Review, reports, and publication of data/results.
* Prepare decks and presentations on the artistic programme and brand.
