Our dedicated team delivers civil engineering services from feasibility through construction stage across a wide range of electricity infrastructure projects. These projects support ESB's strategic objectives of decarbonising electricity, building resilient infrastructure, and empowering clients.
Scope of Work
The portfolio of work includes:
* New build projects
* Remedial works to existing assets
* Development of new renewable energy projects in Ireland and abroad
The portfolio encompasses buildings, power stations, electrical infrastructure, and large macro-infrastructure such as dams.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced civil engineer to join us on our journey to a Brighter Future. Key responsibilities include:
* Demonstrating a commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of your role
* Providing civil, drainage, and water engineering technical services and design capability from concept to detailed design to procurement and delivery of engineering works
* Ensuring all planning permission and licensing conditions are complied with and liaising with statutory authorities and other stakeholders
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
* Minimum 5 years relevant experience
* Developed strong technical capability in civil, drainage, and water engineering design and competence to deliver civil, drainage, and water engineering packages
* Experience in using specialist software in hydrological, hydraulic, or drainage modeling
* Strong capability in assessing, communicating, and managing project critical technical risks
* Record of successfully managing significant projects or aspects of significant projects
* Strong report-writing capability
* 'Can-do' attitude in all dealings with internal and external stakeholders
* Full driving license and access to a car
* Level 8 Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
The following qualifications and experience are desirable:
* Strong commercial and project management capability
* Experience of managing surface and/or ground water contamination
* Experience in performing PSDP/PD role on projects
* Level 9 Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification
* Chartered status in a recognized professional engineering institution

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is €57,950 to €68,150 per annum.
