Master Planner
Position Summary:
The Master Planner is responsible for serving as the customer interface for the demand plan and shipment information, developing a feasible operational plan, and maintaining ownership over the execution of the operational plan. The goal is to achieve customer satisfaction, minimize Jabil liability, and continuously improve the performance of the planning metrics. The Master Planner is also a mentor to the Production Planners in the Workcell.
Key Responsibilities and End Results:
1. Develops Master Production Schedule (MPS) maximizing operational capacity and attaining planned stock levels.
2. Confirms the MPS is in line with capacity and material availability.
3. Communicates and coordinates the production schedule for the execution of production orders across the site, ensuring customer priorities are optimized.
4. Meets daily with the manufacturing team to assess production schedules, adjusting as necessary based on production results, optimizing run quantities, and minimizing changeovers to help achieve 100% on-time delivery.
5. Creates production schedules with a focus on minimizing downtime while meeting company and customer target inventory levels.
6. Monitors daily production to ensure it is on schedule with production plans, coordinating any adjustments as necessary. Manages material master data integrity in ERP.
7. Maintains material control and liability, working closely with the purchasing team to ensure required materials are available as needed for production schedules by reviewing CTS and E+O Reports.
8. Builds quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance with all quality requirements. Initiates, organizes, and leads process/continuous improvement projects. Maintains efficiency of capacity and customer sizing.
9. Interfaces with Manufacturing Manager, Line Leads, Material Handlers, and Purchasing to resolve concerns regarding schedules, part shortages, expedites, etc.
10. Analyzes material and capacity requirements and communicates constraints to Senior Management based on customer demand.
11. Ensures key planning metrics are achieved and maintained (e.g., OTD, Inventory, WIP & DII).
12. Minimizes and eliminates aged inventory through rework/reassignment and consumption.
13. Responsible for maintenance and compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
14. Manages Jabil purge process for internal Workcell purges. Adheres to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by management.
15. Complies and follows all procedures within the company security policy.
Skills/Attributes:
1. Proficiency in the English language is a requirement alongside eligibility to work in Ireland.
2. Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
3. Proven ability to meet deadlines.
4. A “can do” work ethic with excellent problem-solving skills.
5. Primary degree in a relevant discipline (Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management). May substitute experience in lieu of educational requirements.
6. 5 years plus experience working in manufacturing planning/master planner, forecasting, or related experience in supply chain methodologies. Requires an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of planning and inventory control, Lean, Six Sigma.
7. Demonstrated strong technical skills in ERP navigation and reports. Specific experience with SAP is highly desirable.
8. IT Skills - Advanced Excel skills, MRP/ERP system experience.
Desired Criteria:
1. Experience in an electronic manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
2. Experience in leading process improvements/lean manufacturing activities in a manufacturing environment.
