SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Associate to join our cross-functional accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of Fixed Asset accounting, supporting the Director of EUCAN Controllership in undertaking regular and ad hoc financial reporting activities.
This role requires an individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment and effectively communicate with all levels of personnel. Key responsibilities include:
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Process Fixed Assets transactions in accordance with procedures and defined timelines, including setting up accurate fixed assets coding assignments and processing Construction in Process items.
* Month-end close of Fixed Assets sub-ledger duties, including analysis, recording, and reporting on fixed assets in accordance with local and US GAAP.
* Report fixed asset acquisitions, capitalisations, and dispositions within the accounting system, as well as running depreciation.
* Review and approve all Fixed Asset purchase requisitions.
* Collaborate with the projects team on project cost reports, contractor cost allocation, and accruals.
* Support year-end financial statement audit process and SOX audit process.
* Work closely with Finance colleagues globally, adhering to global deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS
* Minimum two years of experience in similar roles, preferably with knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, Sarbanes Oxley, and internal controls.
* Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
* Excellent follow-through and communication skills, with ability to work independently in a complex and fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION
* Finance Degree or equivalent qualification.
ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
This role requires heavy interaction with Finance Department management and staff, cost centre managers, and external auditors. Regular contact with Finance staff in Dublin, Cork, EUCAN, and the US is required.
