Job Summary
The Senior Engineer will manage and deliver key water and wastewater capital infrastructure projects for a range of clients, overseeing the full project lifecycle from planning to handover.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop preliminary designs and feasibility studies at concept design stage.
* Prepare route and site selection reports.
* Develop design drawings, technical reports, and calculations.
* Prepare contract documents and specifications for project delivery.
* Liaise with clients throughout all stages of the project ensuring design and contract outputs are delivered on time to a high quality.
* Manage teams of engineers in the delivery of project outputs.
* Mentor and develop project teams, providing technical expertise and guidance.
* Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver environmental, planning, hydrogeological, and structural inputs to the design.
* Procure Site Investigation and Building and Civil Engineering Contracts, and prepare pricing schedules and Bills of Quantities.
* Conduct construction stage inspections and prepare associated reports.
* Identify and mitigate project risks, and implement effective risk management strategies.
* Develop effective communication and collaboration within teams and with key clients.
* Administer construction contracts to ensure design requirements, project schedules, and budgets are achieved.
* Develop and maintain client relationships.
* Stay up-to-date with industry developments, innovations, and technology utilised by consulting engineering professionals.
* Comply with and further develop company quality assurance procedures and plans.
Requirements
* 10-15 years experience in a similar role.
* Minimum 5 years experience in design and build in the water/wastewater industry in Ireland.
* Minimum Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong understanding of water/wastewater engineering standards.
* Working knowledge of relevant software packages such as Microsoft Project.
* Strong working knowledge of construction contracts such as FIDIC.
* Proven ability to manage teams, deliver complex projects, and build client relationships.
