What You Can Expect
The Controllership Organization focuses on technical finance accounting matters and internal controls and compliance, applies best practices within EMEA environment, drives alignment among business units to integrate governance and business practices across the enterprise. As part of the Controllership organization, the Country Controller will be based in the local country to drive alignment between business finance and GBS and ensure compliance with Zimmer Biomet policies and procedures.
The Country Controller will be responsible for ensuring maintenance of internal controls within the local organization, updating policies, timely and accurate reporting of finance metrics, driving statutory & tax compliance, and providing support in the audit process and audit remediation issues.
How You'll Create Impact
1. Oversee local statutory and regulatory compliance, including:
* Statutory audits & filing of local statutory reports
* Tax filing
* Regulatory compliance
1. Maintain local accounting records (if required by laws)
2. Guide GBS teams in terms of finance, accounting audit, and tax topics
3. Manage period-end close process, working with GBS & BPO/SSC
4. Coordinate vendor, customer, and collection information
5. Coordinate with Treasury and Tax for local treasury/banking requirements, tax reporting, TP, custom audits, etc.
6. Serve as local accounting point of contact for in-country business finance professionals and other functional teams (e.g. Tax, Treasury, Marketing, Med Ed, etc.)
7. Support EMEA Controller and provide data necessary for deep dive reviews for a specific country, actively participate in meetings with Business leaders, with specific focus on accounting framework
8. Drive projects and develop tools to support Statutory compliance, account filings, VAT, and Income tax matters
9. Work closely with Management to support SOX Controls, Risk assessments, and remediation
10. Support GBS Management with the implementation of process enhancements and performance improvements, including improving the quality and timing of recording transactions and clearing activities, leveraging systems to provide greater visibility of financial information and automating processes to reduce manual effort.

Your Background
1. B.S. in accounting, finance, or related field
2. Minimum of 7 years of experience required in finance or accounting
3. Previous experience working in a Shared Services/GBS environment an advantage
4. CPA or equivalent required is a plus
5. Must have a working knowledge of US GAAP and other local & regional accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, IASB)
