Job title: Lead Veterinary Surgeon

Summary of Job Purpose and Function:
The Lead Veterinary Surgeon role is a key position in the Village Vets leadership team, responsible for the holistic performance of the clinic and team. This exciting role offers autonomy in clinic leadership, ensuring the team delivers high-quality patient care, exceptional customer service, and strong team engagement. Reporting to the Regional Director, the role includes delivering the clinic's business plan alongside other business partner functions while performing clinical duties in accordance with Village Vets' standards and the Veterinary Council of Ireland.
Leadership Responsibilities:
* Be an ambassador for Village Vets, demonstrating the company values and principles.
* Lead the clinic team positively, providing coaching and mentoring support.
* Communicate effectively with the clinic team and lead on internal messages.
* Collaborate with operational, medical, and support functions to set the strategic direction of the clinic.
* Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion within the team.
Clinical Responsibilities:
* Lead on PAS Accreditation and ensure compliance with VCI COS regulations.
* Demonstrate sound clinical judgement and promote clinical best practices.
* Ensure compliance with new initiatives, protocols, and purchasing.
* Identify development needs and provide clinical mentorship for the veterinary team.
* Support the Head RVN in delivering exceptional care.
* Promote preventative healthcare to clients.
* Lead a culture valuing clinical work transparency and accurate billing.
Operational Responsibilities:
* Develop and lead the annual business plan for the clinic.
* Accountable for achieving clinic targets across the Profit and Loss account.
* Report on clinic performance monthly with the Regional Director.
* Ensure compliance with new operational initiatives and protocols.
* Lead team engagement and facilitate a culture of feedback and development.

Education, Experience, and Skills:
Essential:
* MVB Professional/Technical Qualification.
* At least 3 years qualified experience.
* Excellent communication skills (written & oral).
* Excellent time management.
* Strong emotional intelligence.
* Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
* Confident decision-making skills.
* Self-motivated with a conscientious approach to work.
* Trustworthy and professional approach to customer service.
Desirable:
* Further qualification in leadership, finance, or clinical training.
* Experience leading a team and managing a P&L.
* Coaching and/or people leadership experience/qualifications.
* Financial acumen.
Salary Range: €50,000.00 - €75,000.00 per year + Bonus and Additional Lead Vet Supplement.
