Accountant Role - Alltech
Location: The role will primarily be based at Alltech’s Irish HQ in Dunboyne, Co. Meath.
Responsibilities: The successful applicant will take responsibility for the local finance function of this business and will report to the Overall Financial Controller. Initially, this role will involve the following:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Management of Payable/Receivables
2. Duty payments
3. Stock management
4. Pricing and Fixed Asset Register
5. Payroll assistance (managed externally)
6. Routine general ledger postings
7. Banking and cash flow management
This role is expected to evolve into a Financial Controller role with responsibility for accounts production, budgeting, and financial reporting.
As part of the finance team, the candidate will perform a range of duties, including but not limited to:
1. Expense and Gift Management:
o Weekly tracking of gifts from VISA card, employee expenses, and direct postings to the GL codes.
o Downloading weekly expenses from Concur, coding them in Medius, and reviewing them in AX.
o Completing a review of expenses on Concur weekly to ensure all backup is provided and compliant with revenue regulations.
o Reporting weekly on gifts and expenses on ROS under the enhanced revenue reporting requirements.
o Administration and editing of employee profiles in Concur.
o Providing employee expense accruals that were not processed at month end.
2. Debt Collection and Invoicing:
o Weekly collection of customer balances that are overdue.
o Follow-up with Intouch billing department on service agreement balances.
o Follow-up with machine servicing and spare parts departments on outstanding balances.
o Monthly bad debt provision calculation.
o Invoicing of 37+ and QA income on a monthly basis.
o AR ledger revaluations and reconciliation and AR AX close at month end.
3. Lease Management:
o Monthly visual lease calculations and journal preparation.
o Adding new finance or operating leases to Visual Lease.
o Uploading operating and finance Visual Lease journals to AX on a monthly basis.
o Short-term and long-term finance lease reconciliation.
4. Accounts Payable (AP) Management:
o Reconciliation of 3rd party statements to AX for overhead and stock invoices.
o Liaising with accounts payable team on overhead and stock queries.
o Quarterly preparation and filing of supplier statements to AX.
o AP ledger revaluations, reconciliation, and AP AX close at month end.
o Weekly posting of Keenans steel supplier invoices on AX and processing for payment on AX as instructed by Keenans finance team.
5. VAT & Intrastat Reporting:
o Preparation and submission of the UK VAT return on a monthly basis.
o Preparation of UK Intrastat dispatches and arrivals on a monthly basis.
o Preparation of Hungary, Belgium, Ireland, and Northern Ireland Intrastat dispatches and arrivals.
6. Balance Sheet Reconciliation & Corporate Reporting:
o Monthly submission of balance sheet reconciliations on Adra.
o Liaising with the finance team on month-end reconciliations.
o Coordination with the corporate reporting team on any new monthly reporting requirements.
