Our client, a leading government body, is looking for an experienced Auditor to join their team on an initial 12-month contract.
The successful candidate will conduct audits and verification checks on funded programs, ensuring funds are used appropriately and in compliance with regulations. The role involves on-site and remote assessments, report writing, and providing feedback to funded organizations to enhance governance and financial management. Regular travel across Ireland is required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct audit & verification checks on funded organizations.
2. Assess financial records, internal controls, and expenditure compliance.
3. Ensure adherence to accounting regulations & programme rules.
4. Prepare detailed reports on findings, recommendations, and risk issues.
5. Monitor budgets, financial statements, and governance practices.
6. Provide guidance & training on financial management and governance.
7. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Requirements
1. Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) and audit experience.
2. Strong knowledge of financial reviews, forensic accounting, and compliance.
3. Proficiency in MS Office & accounting software.
4. Excellent report writing & analytical skills.
5. Ability to work autonomously & meet deadlines.
6. Full driving license with car availability for business travel.
Desirable
1. Experience in the public/voluntary sector.
2. Knowledge of EU & government accounting regulations.
