Sky Staffing Solutions is hiring on behalf of our client for the position of Sous Chef in County Mayo. This role is ideal for an ambitious and experienced chef looking to take the next step in their culinary career by supporting a high-functioning kitchen team in delivering exceptional food and service.
Working closely with the Head Chef, the successful candidate will help oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain quality and consistency, and play an active role in team leadership and food innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Head Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations
* Supervise food preparation and service to ensure consistent quality and presentation
* Assist with menu planning and seasonal dish development
* Maintain stock levels, oversee ordering, and monitor food costs
* Ensure full compliance with HACCP and food safety standards
* Lead and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment
* Monitor equipment maintenance and ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met
* Step in for the Head Chef during absences, managing staff and service flow
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or senior kitchen role in a fast-paced environment
* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and modern kitchen practices
* Proven ability to manage kitchen operations and staff
* Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills
* Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and holidays
* High standards of cleanliness, organisation, and professionalism
