Accredited Counsellor/Therapist Role
We are seeking Accredited Counsellor/Therapists for sessional work with the HSE Counselling Primary Care (CIPC) service in Dublin South West, Kildare, and West Wicklow.
CIPC Overview
CIPC provides short-term counselling in primary care settings to medical card holders aged 18 years and over by accredited, professionally qualified Counsellor/Therapists and Psychologists under the governance of the HSE National Counselling Service.
Suitable applicants may also have the opportunity to provide trauma-informed counselling contracts to clients of the National Counselling Service for adult survivors of childhood trauma, dependent on relevant clinical experience.
Qualifications and Professional Experience
* A recognised Level 7 qualification (QQI) in a relevant human science discipline or equivalent in a health and social care profession or health-related profession is required.
* In addition to the above, applicants must possess either:
o (a) A degree or post-graduate qualification in counselling, or psychotherapy recognised by one of the following: the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) or a relevant body within the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP).
o (b) Full accredited membership with one of the following: IACP or a relevant body within ICP.
o (c) A post-graduate qualification in counselling psychology or clinical psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
o (d) Commenced registration process with the PSI or be fully registered with the clinical or counselling psychology division of PSI.
* A minimum of two years' relevant post-qualification experience is also required. This requirement may not apply to some full-time post-graduate qualifications.
