Our client, a food manufacturing family run business, are looking for an Export Manager to help them grow their business locally and internationally. The role involves occasional international travel. The ideal candidate will have an European language (German or French) and has a strong passion for food. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing existing relationships within key international accounts and exploring new opportunities in new and existing markets, ensuring growth targets are achieved.

The Role Description:
Strategic
* Achieve volume and profit growth targets in line with strategic and company objectives and values.
* Maintaining and growing the business with existing distributors in key markets.
* Identifying new business in new markets, and/or with existing distributors.
* Ensuring the proper selection of distributors in each market under strict criteria, with professional management, training, and motivation of same.
Customer Relationships
* Build and manage meaningful business relationships in line with company values and culture, with all current and new international distributors.
* Communication to business stakeholders of all sales, marketing, and product development activities.
* Reporting on customer visits for improved customer management, market information collection, and provide monthly updates to the team of same.
* Planning and coordinating inward market visits for key customers, ensuring maximum share of mind for our business and brands among our distributors.
* Negotiating any new supply or trading agreements with new and existing distributors, and deciding whether Distribution agreements should be created, extended, or terminated at renewal dates.
* Building a network of support systems through governmental international offices, best practice development and even collaboration with other exporters.
Cross functional
* Responding to, initiating, and coordinating customer NPD projects in conjunction with category/innovation/insight and marketing teams.
* Sales forecasting and demand planning for the export business.
* Monthly reporting to senior management on performance versus plan and budget - plus addressing any issues, concerns, and future opportunities.
* Organising company attendance and participation at key international sales events and trade shows with the support of the Marketing team - promoting our business and ensuring our brands have notable presence and stand out.
* Working closely with the customer service and supply chain teams to communicate any issues or concerns back to the business.
* Promote and actively engage in an environment of compliance, continuous improvement, responsiveness to change and innovation within the Company.
Skills and Abilities:
* Experienced Export Manager / International account manager.
* Detail oriented, efficient and works at a fast pace to keep up with many projects, tasks and varied categories simultaneously.
* Very strong IT skills - Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Proven track record of driving performance in a profit focused role.
* Able to work on own initiative.
* High degree of integrity with an ability to communicate effectively with customers to build trust.
* Able to assess the financial impact of deals & opportunities.
Additional Requirements:
* Must hold a full clean driving licence.
* Must be willing/available for international travel.
