Role Introduction:
The AA is embarking on an exciting growth and transformation phase and is seeking to recruit a Workshop Technician (Mechanic) operating from the SMR Centre in Ballymount.
The Technician will carry out all repair, maintenance and service work as directed by the Service Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake servicing, maintenance, and repairs (SMR) to customer cars in accordance with AA & manufacturers procedures ensuring that they are returned in a clean and good mechanical order.
* Inspection, assessment and diagnosis of vehicle issues. Compile a parts list and labour pricing for ordering and purchase for all work outside of standard servicing.
* Record accurately SMR activities via jobcard/DMS/eVHC.
* Record accurately details of all repairs and parts used via jobcard/DMS/eVHC.
* Record accurately details job times via jobcard/DMS/eVHC.
* Ensure the cleanliness, maintenance and security of the workshop premises, equipment and vehicles in line with best Health & Safety practices.
* Monitor all garage stocks, especially tools and spare parts at the required levels.
* Notify appropriate staff when ordering is required by keeping accurate stock and consumption records.
* Answer queries regarding any aspect of the above in liaison with the appropriate staff.
* Effect Roadside Repair or recovery of any Vehicle as directed.
* Ad hoc duties as directed by the Service manager.
Minimum qualifications, experience & skills:
* Qualified motor Mechanic.
* Time served as a motor mechanic.
* Sound practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical workings of motor vehicles and an ability to affect repairs.
* Must have current driving licence and ability to make clear written statements.
