Based in Ireland (Munster Region) with some travel to UK & Europe

Job Overview
The Head of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) will have dotted line to the CEO, and be responsible for leading & managing all activity in relation to the organization's Group Health, Safety & Environment Programme.
This role involves working across group sites to develop, implement, and oversee strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe working environment for employees, driving the performance of HSE against KPIs & broaden & advance our existing H&S programmes towards a best-in-class standard.
Responsibilities
- Establish & implement effective Health, Safety & Environment policies & procedures incorporating legislative requirements & industry best practice.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives including setting targeted/site-specific goals and initiatives and monitor performance/progress.
- Oversee external audits & inspections & develop the internal HSE audit programme to monitor compliance to documented policies & procedures.
- Oversee Emergency Management Planning to ensure that this addresses continuation of business and the minimisation of legal and regulatory breaches.
- Compile & report on key Health & Safety & Environment metrics and analyse data to identify trends, root cause and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide guidance, advice, and support to the management team on HSE policy and strategy standards.
- Identify HSE training needs in conjunction with group sites.
- Manage a team of regional and central HSE resources.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years' experience at H&S Manager level within a Manufacturing environment.
- Primary Degree in Engineering, Science or equivalent in conjunction with a recognized Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
- Chartered member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent qualification would be an advantage.
- Experience of Chemical Management & ATEX requirements a strong advantage
