The Role / Location We are currently recruiting for a Senior Surveyor to work in our Dublin office within our Development Agency and Consultancy Team.
Core to this role is the provision of consultancy advice to clients to establish the optimum strategy for their landholdings, through detailed site, planning and financial analysis. The role will be predominately consultancy based; however, the successful candidate should demonstrate their ability to work flexibly in both consultancy and agency roles. The Person: You will be very familiar with the Irish property market with a good knowledge of all property asset classes.
You will be technically excellent with very strong numerical and report writing skills with proven commercial acumen.
You will be a surveyor with at least three years' experience in the property industry and someone who has a good understanding of the development land market including relevant planning and development policies. Our focus is to recruit an individual with excellent financial modelling skills, a capability to efficiently manage client relationships and wider design teams, whilst also having a proven ability to produce high quality reports and advisory notes to clients. Role competencies: Be able to fulfil a consultancy role with regard to the strategic analysis and active management of development assets including financial modelling in excel and Argus Developer. Experience in client and design team management and relationship skills. Build and manage your own internal network within Savills to maximise cross department efficiencies. Strong technical skills in valuation and combined with proven commercial acumen. Ability to work effectively on your own initiative, be target-driven and motivated by the delivery of quality work. Results focused with a methodical, an organised approach to daily, weekly, & monthly time management and workload requirements. Ability to adapt to a changing and dynamic environment with increased focus on process. Delivering an effective pitch and/or presentation at on-site Client meetings when required. Capable of listening, analysing and understanding Client requirements. Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation). Provide high quality development consultancy advice to key financial lenders, receivers, private equity funds and developers for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. Respond quickly to client requirements in this changing market and be able to adapt when necessary. Experience in property valuation and sales would be beneficial. Monitor the activity within the Irish development land market on a continuous basis. Liaise with all other departments within Savills to monitor market activity. Person Specification: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ideally you will have attained your assessment of professional competence (APC), or are working towards becoming a Chartered Surveyor (SCSI/ RICS), however consideration will also be given to candidates with a related consultancy or project management background. Ability to build relationships with clients and understand their requirements. Ability to professionally manage large projects from initial strategy report through to planning and/or transactions. Technically competent and numerate with a thorough knowledge and appreciation of key issues influencing the development land market, including policies and identify optimum land uses. Understanding of Argus Developer and strong MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. A team player that also has the ability to work autonomously when necessary. Ability to work to tight deadlines and find solutions to complex development land issues. Experience in identifying and pitching for new business. Good working knowledge of the Irish planning system. Experience in database management and working with large datasets. Highly pro-active and ambitious with a desire to provide best in class residential and commercial consultancy advice and service in the Irish market. A full valid driver's license and use of own car is of benefit, but not essential.
