Finance Executive
Fixed Term Contract (12 Months)
The Organisation
Engineers Ireland is the professional body for engineers and engineering in Ireland. With a membership of 30,000 across the island of Ireland and overseas, we focus on the promotion and development of all disciplines of engineers, working collaboratively with industry, educational institutions, state bodies, and the public service. As one of the country’s largest and long-established professional bodies, we liaise closely with the engineering community to act as the voice of the profession and to promote excellence through a programme of ongoing accredited professional development and certification.
The Role
We are seeking to recruit a Finance Executive for a fixed-term contract (12 months). This role is designed to support the organisation's finance function, particularly in the effective invoicing and collection of revenue streams. This role is exciting and dynamic, with a focus on improving IT systems to increase automation and enhance efficiency in the position.
Reporting to the Finance Team Leader, the main responsibilities of the role will include the following:
Customer Service
* Dealing with inbound/outbound calls and emails
* Ongoing membership database maintenance and upkeep
Debtors - Professional Subscriptions
* Professional subscription annual and periodic invoicing for approximately 25,000 members
* Credit control of Professional subscription income, by means of regular email reminders
* Management of the annual finance call project
* Participation in a member engagement project
* Primary administrator of our Professional Subscription Group scheme (PSGS)
* Project lead for the implementation of the My Employer Will Pay website functionality
* Provision of a high-quality service to participating companies of the PSGS from initial invoicing to credit control
* Professional Subscription receipt allocations
* Report upon professional subscriptions income targets
Creditors
* Provision of support and back-up, to cover leave and as required
Bank
* Provision of support and back-up, to cover leave and as required
General
* Assist the Finance Team Lead with process improvements
* Participation in cross-org projects, as required
* General finance duties, as required
The ideal candidate will have:
* A minimum of two years’ previous relevant experience in high volume invoicing and collection
* Strong knowledge and use of Sage 50 and Global Payments (Realex), or similar
* Strong database management skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to build effective relationships at all levels
* A high level of initiative, energy, and motivation with an ability to devise and implement continual process improvements and a strong interest in implementation of automation projects
* Ability to work on own initiative and as a good team player
* Excellent customer service skills
* Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite; particularly Excel and Word
* Highly attentive to detail
* Fluent English speaker
Qualification
* Accounting Technician qualification or degree in a finance related discipline
Location:
The role will be based at Engineers Ireland’s headquarters in Clyde Road, Dublin 4. We operate a hybrid working model.
Remuneration:
Remuneration package commensurate with the role will be offered to the successful candidate.
