Job Title: Physiotherapist - Men’s Senior Team

Direct Reporting Line To: Men’s Senior Team Doctor/Lead Physiotherapist (professionally), Director of Operations (operationally)

The Position:
The Physiotherapist is key member of a progressive sports science and medical multidisciplinary team promoting the health and well-being of the players, under the guidance of the Team Doctor and Lead Physiotherapist. They will deliver exceptional physiotherapy services to the Republic of Ireland Men’s Senior Team squad through:
· Adopting a player-centred, multidisciplinary approach to player care.
· Inspiring player performance through individualised care and positive connection.
· Delivering physiotherapy services aligned with the Head Coach’s playing philosophy and the Football Association of Ireland’s ‘Green Line’ principles.
· Collaborating across the Football Association of Ireland to share best practice, especially with respect to medical care.
· Contributing to the Republic of Ireland Men’s Senior Team Medical and Performance Operations Manual.
· Driving the highest performance support standards in international sport, by participating in periodic structured review and refinement of processes.
Key Responsibilities:
· To provide exceptional physiotherapy services to the Republic of Ireland Men’s Senior Team squad.
· To assess, treat and when appropriate, rehabilitate, Men’s Senior Team players during international windows.
· To contribute to injury prevention efforts by liaising closely with the multidisciplinary team on individual player planning (pre-camp, during camp, post-camp), load management and suitable programming (including gym, pre-activation exercises).
· To maintain high standards of clinical governance through completing contemporaneous medical records on the ScribePro system as required and in line with professional body regulations, participating in After-Action Reviews for all significant events, and updating medical processes in line with evidence-based practice.
· To participate in structured post-camp medical and performance team reviews.
· To participate in a programme of Continuing Professional Development specific to the needs of international team medical and performance staff.
· Attend all training sessions and matches, along with regular medical and interdisciplinary meetings throughout any camp.
· Ensure physiotherapy equipment and supplies are maintained to a high standard. Including keeping an up to date stock list of kit, equipment and ancillary items and working with the medical team to provide an inventory of supplies and equipment (this is regularly in advance of each camp for flight or customs purposes)
· Assist in setting up and management of the medical room in the team hotel
· Assist in ensuring changing and treatment rooms in training and match venues are set up and stocked effectively
· Have a full and detailed knowledge of UEFA and FIFA medical regulations and ensure adherence with relevant competition guidelines, rules and regulations
· Develop close working relationships with peers in professional clubs to enable knowledge of and effective management of international players, as well as drive individual player programmes.
· To perform other duties (including operational) as required to support the performance of the international department.
· Uphold and promote the FAI’s Safeguarding policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Chartered Physiotherapist with CORU / ISCP registration (or equivalent).
· Postgraduate qualifications in Sports Medicine / Strength & Conditioning / Sport Science (MSc/PhD) – or working towards.
· Evidence of suitable emergency pitch-side and Safeguarding qualifications.
· Proven track record of working with elite, professional footballers.
· A broad diversity of experience in high-performance sport, with unique perspectives and skillsets that have the potential to enhance interdisciplinary working.
