Innovative Engineering Leadership Role
Our client is a pioneering, autonomous manufacturing business at the forefront of sustainable construction in Ireland. With two world-class manufacturing sites and a reputation for high quality, innovation, and sustainability, they are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team in Leinster.
The Position
The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager and lead all aspects of engineering onsite, providing strategic guidance to optimise plant safety, performance, efficiency, yield, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and process excellence.
* Build key relationships with cross-functional departments, including Production, Quality, Environmental, and Capital Projects.
* Foster partnerships with OEMs and equipment vendors to develop asset replacement and upgrade pipelines.
* Develop future technology strategy and execution plan, incorporating AI, IoT, big data, AR, cybersecurity, and additive manufacturing.
* Establish maintenance/engineering and capital spending plans.
* Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to lead major planned interventions.
* Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving using a structured methodology.
* Develop corrective action plans to mitigate downtime risks.
* Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal governance requirements.
* Lead the Engineering and Maintenance teams in adhering to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
* Collaborate across functions to achieve Sustainability goals.
The Person
To be considered, you should have:
* A Level 8 Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Process) or relevant discipline.
* At least 5 years of experience in heavy industry or wood processing plants.
* A proven track record of managing maintenance and/or engineering projects.
* Competency in safety regulations for large-scale manufacturing sites.
* Knowledge of LEAN maintenance practices and CMMS.
