Director of Nursing
The Director of Nursing is a key role at Castle Gardens Nursing Home & Memory Care Centre, responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing and social care to our residents.
Quality of Care Responsibilities:
* Implement the Company's Quality of Care System to meet individual resident needs.
* Maintain clinical practice that meets Regulations & Standards.
* Monitor clinical practice through individualized plans of care and conduct internal audits.
* Ensure ongoing training and development of staff.
Financial Administration Responsibilities:
* Maintain administrative procedures in the absence of the Administrator.
* Monitor administrative procedures and manage the Community Units budget.
* Understand legislative requirements regarding the financial affairs of mentally impaired people.
General Management:
* Conduct regular communication meetings with clinical staff.
* Liaise with Marketing to maximize opportunities and maintain a high profile in the local community.
* Monitor all complaints and ensure documentation and investigation.
Environment:
* Implement Company Health and Safety Policy to safeguard staff, residents, and others.
* Ensure catering meets HACCP standards and hygiene and cleanliness standards are met.
* Implement preventative maintenance programmes.
Human Resources Function:
* Participate in the selection and interviewing of staff.
* Ensure HR practices comply with current employment legislation.
* Verify registered nurses employed in the Home are on the 'live' NMBI Register.
The ideal candidate will have a Qualified RGN with at least 3 years' experience in the last 6 years in care of the older person. A post-registration management qualification in health or a related field is also required. The candidate should have no less than 3 years' experience in a management capacity in the health and social care area and be registered on the appropriate part of the NMBI live register.
Proven track record in healthcare clinical management, excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Sound decision-making ability, results-driven, good appreciation of finance issues, and ability to motivate self and others are also required.
