About your new employer My client, a leading Online Payment services provider are seeking to hire a Head of Risk (PCF 14) to support growth across Ireland.
The company supports the needs of both new and established businesses in the ecommerce and online space.
As the Head of Risk you will have extensive, proven experience and knowledge in transaction processing, management of payments, and the online payments industry.
This is a hands-on role, you will adopt a consultative approach and work closely with the senior management within the Irish entity and across global business divisions to implement and manage the high volume of transactions and work with the business to report on risk at monthly, quarterly and yearly milestones.
Key Responsibilities Overall responsibility for managing the Irish risk function and reporting directly to the Board of Directors on risk management matters.
Leading the second line of defence and working with the first line of defence to identify, assess, document, and review risks of all types.
Overseeing periodic enterprise-wide risk assessments.
Provide oversight of internal and external fraud risks, controls and incidents to ensure inherent risks are mitigated where possible and residual risks are documented appropriately.
Work on merchant remediation plans.
Working closely with the General Manager and the Board to establish and embed a strong risk culture.
Requirements for the role Proven experience in a senior risk managerial role ideally within a regulated payment services, international fintech or high growth business.
A minimum of 5+ years experience in fraud and risk management within financial services.
Significant risk management experience, knowledge and qualifications.
Expertise in fraud risk legislation and regulation (including card scheme requirements) in the EU.
Sound judgement skills to identify and resolve problems.
Previous approval in a pre-approval-controlled function role from a national competent authority in the EU is preferred.
