About Us
The department is at the forefront of innovation in Emergency Medicine in Ireland. Our multidisciplinary team consists of:
* 5 Consultants
* Nurses
* Advanced Nurse Practitioners
* Medical Social Workers
* Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists
* Clinical Nutrition
* Speech and Language Therapy
* Dedicated administrative support
We work closely with Intensive Care, Diagnostic Imaging, Psychological Medicine, and other specialties.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment of Emergency Patients
* Conduct thorough assessments of emergency patients under the guidance of senior staff
* Show initiative in managing workload and supporting senior staff
* Communicate patient management decisions effectively
* Ensure accurate patient handover
Education and Training
* Participate in mandatory training programs and CPD meetings
* Maintain and develop professional expertise through continuing education
* Engage in performance reviews and planning with the Supervising Consultant
Requirements
* Full Registration with the Irish Medical Council
* Good decision-making skills
* Broad clinical knowledge base
* Awareness of patient safety and risk management issues
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a team
