Summary Description
Recorded Artists Actors Performers (RAAP) are looking to bring on board a Finance and Operations Analyst. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of administrative processes, an interest in the music or royalties management industry, and a keen eye for numbers and technology. As an integral part of the team, you will contribute to ensuring the accurate management of royalty data, tracking of payments, and supporting the efficient use of technical systems for financial and royalty management purposes.
RAAP is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring that performers receive the royalties they are entitled to for their performances. In collaboration with Collective Management Organizations (CMOs) globally, RAAP manages the collection and distribution of both domestic and international broadcast and public performance royalties for our 5,000 members. Additionally, we handle the distribution of Irish performance royalties to our affiliated CMOs and agencies, which represent more than one million performers worldwide. RAAP has established agreements in over 50 territories and continues to develop relationships with new markets to ensure fair representation and equal royalty distribution for all our members.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Reporting to the CEO, in this role you will be responsible for but not limited to:
2. Assist with the processing and tracking of royalty payments, invoices, and other financial transactions.
3. Maintain accurate records of financial data and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
4. Support the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and audits by gathering necessary documentation.
5. Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and royalty distribution accounts.
Technical Systems Management:
1. Assist in the management of the technical systems used for tracking royalties, client databases, and financial data.
2. Provide user support for internal systems and ensure system accuracy.
3. Collaborate with the IT team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to financial and royalty tracking software.
Data Entry & Record Keeping:
1. Update and maintain financial records, including royalty statements, client accounts, and payment schedules.
2. Ensure data integrity and compliance with internal data protection policies.
Reporting & Documentation:
1. Prepare reports on financial performance, system usage, and royalty distributions as needed.
2. Assist in creating and updating documentation for internal processes and technical procedures.
Management of Claims with Other CMOs:
1. Assist in making claims for royalty entitlements from other CMOs in accordance with international agreements and treaties.
2. Ensure the timely and accurate submission of claims, maintaining thorough records of communications and claims statuses.
3. Coordinate with the relevant teams and CMOs to track and resolve outstanding claims.
Compliance & Regulatory Support:
1. Help ensure the organisation’s compliance with financial regulations and collective management guidelines.
2. Assist with audits and reviews of financial and technical processes to ensure standards are met.
The suitable candidate will have:
Qualifications:
* A minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably within a finance, technical, or royalties’ management environment.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Familiarity with financial systems and royalty management platforms is a plus.
* Good understanding of basic financial principles and practices.
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and recognise when to prioritise.
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
* A degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
* Knowledge of data protection laws and confidentiality standards.
* Experience with financial software or databases used for royalties or copyright management.
* Ability to quickly learn new technical systems and processes.
* A general interest in the intersection of finance, technology, and intellectual property.
