Job Summary
The Retail Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing store operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, maximizing profitability, and maintaining efficient day-to-day activities. This role combines managerial responsibilities, customer service, and hands-on approaches to drive store performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Management:
o Assist the Store Manager in inventory control, loss prevention, quality assurance, store cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company policies.
o Conduct daily store opening and closing activities, including cash handling, deposits, and securing the premises.
o Monitor sales goals, analyze performance, and assist with implementing strategies to achieve targets.
* Sales and Customer Service:
o Deliver excellent customer service and foster a customer-focused environment by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints.
o Support driving sales through effective merchandising, upselling, and product knowledge.
o Lead by example in creating a positive and engaging experience for customers.
o Implement store promotions and provide accurate product information to customers.
* Team Leadership:
o Assist in recruiting, training, and developing store staff in alignment with company standards and goals.
o Supervise, motivate, and support staff to meet individual and team performance goals.
o Provide coaching and constructive feedback to ensure high levels of staff engagement and morale.
o Schedule staff to optimize coverage and balance workloads during peak hours and busy periods.
* Inventory and Merchandising:
o Maintain appropriate inventory levels by performing stock checks, organizing deliveries, and ensuring product availability.
o Assist in visual merchandising to enhance product appeal and meet store presentation standards.
o Oversee accurate inventory records and minimize losses through effective control measures.
* Reporting and Analysis:
o Monitor sales data, labor costs, and other key metrics; generate reports as needed for management.
o Support the Store Manager in analyzing sales performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
o Actively contribute ideas and insights to drive store performance and enhance operational efficiencies.
Requirements
* Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in a retail environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or assistant management role.
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in business, retail management, or a related field preferred).
* Skills:
