The Mastercard Commercial Card Platform, Smart Data, enables issuers and end corporate clients to manage their commercial card programs. It is the single-entry point to features and functions such as virtual payments, data integrations, account management, transaction reconciliation and reporting. The Commercial Platform team is responsible for delivering a best-in-class platform that meets the needs of commercial clients across the globe and delivers on our broader business objectives.
Role
The role is a Director – Product management reporting into the Vice President of Product Management.
Responsibilities
1. Lead a team of product managers across different geographies.
2. Drive tangible data-driven business outcomes at the product level, manage to a quantified scorecard continuously monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators and optimizing product performance.
3. Interpret and apply program vision and strategy to product strategy and roadmap for the Products they manage, clearly communicating it to key stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
4. Leverage the Mastercard “Studio” framework to manage the delivery of ongoing innovation and enhancements to focus Products.
5. Drive a user-centric culture of data driven, test and learn experimentation, continuously assessing and enhancing the Product user experience. Partner with Delivery and Servicing teams (GCC, CTS, Biz Ops) to ensure that Products are easy to deploy and deliver a great experience during operation.
6. Demonstrate depth of knowledge of their Product and the ecosystem in which it operates (e.g. regulatory, legal, technology, competitive environment). Apply this knowledge to the development of winning Product strategies.
7. Demonstrate awareness of Mastercard's broader Product offering and the ability to leverage Products from other business areas to augment Product capabilities.
8. Understand the Software Development Lifecycle and manage any barriers or obstacles to deliver capabilities on time and budget.
9. Leverage data to quickly identify Product performance challenges, creating proactive plans to drive usage and revenues. Use data-driven analysis to prioritize resources to deliver against the plan.
10. Ensure that the broader Mastercard organization is enabled to sell focus Products by creating compelling communications & marketing content in partnership with Marketing.
11. Lead cross-functional teams in the development of business requirements to achieve Product objectives.
12. Partner with the Guilds to create and share best practices within the Program with a focus on driving continuous improvement in the Program’s operating model.
13. Provide regular coaching and feedback to direct reports and partners to grow individual functional skills, experience and leadership capabilities.
14. Drive institutionalized knowledge through the use of consistent product documentation (e.g., support documents) across the Studio framework.
15. Demonstrate and drive Mastercard Way behaviours through their behaviour, recognitions, coaching, and employee engagement.
Experiences
1. Proven ability to lead in a matrix environment.
2. Experience working directly with engineering teams is required.
3. Experiences that are a plus include:
* Product management of commercial-based applications.
* Previous work with issuers and/or processors (ie. TSYS).
* Collaboration with design teams or product experience designers.
* UI-based products for credit cards.
* Experience at or integrating with a credit card processor.
* Driving the deployment of software to the cloud.
1. Can deliver high quality products/services in a high growth environment where priorities shift rapidly.
2. Proven track record of data driven decision making and applying continuous improvement and test and learn methodologies across teams.
3. Extensive experience building and launching products in multiple markets.
4. Comprehensive experience in Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
5. Can communicate to executives, peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, and authenticity.
6. Demonstrated experience building relationships, partnering with and influencing executive leadership while commanding the respect of the individual product teams across the organization.
7. Demonstrated experience as a people manager with the ability to attract, recruit, and develop product talent.
