Quality Control Technician Job Overview
The Quality Control (QC) Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of raw materials, raw samples, and finished products. Working with minimal supervision, this individual will receive guidance from QC Chemists and management to carry out various functions within the Laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
* Select and prepare standards for comparison with production samples.
* Assess incoming raw material samples for compliance with specifications.
* Collect, review, and file Certificates of Analysis for all raw materials.
* Document and ensure compliance with HACCP CCP and OPRP requirements.
* Prepare samples for external testing when necessary.
* Organize, store, clean, and dispose of QC retained samples appropriately.
* Clean and calibrate all QC lab instruments.
* Identify and report any issues within the QC process and suggest possible solutions.
* Clean all glassware, maintain a tidy working area, and ensure the lab has sufficient inventory of necessary supplies.
* Implement and improve QC procedures for continuous department development.
* Maintain precise records of all activities.
* Perform routine tests on products, including Brix, pH, turbidity, and others.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred. The ideal candidate should have minimum one year of experience within a testing role in the food or pharmaceutical industry. Proficiency in computer software, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is essential. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are also required. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for success in this role. Full eligibility to work in Ireland is mandatory.
