Dublin. The Director of Nursing has a pivotal role in creating the vision and culture for the service, having overarching responsibility for service planning, coordination and management of activity and resources and leading on the implementation of change. They will empower staff to support older people to continue to exercise independence.About The RoleRoles & Responsibilities:Establishing and executing nursing policies, procedures, and best practices to uphold the delivery of high-quality residents’ care.Offering guidance and support to the nursing team, aiding them in achieving performance goals.Monitoring resident care outcomes and quality metrics, identifying areas for enhancement in the process.Effectively manage staffing levels to secure ample coverage while minimizing operational costs.Supervising training initiatives for new nurses and facilitate continuous professional development for existing staff.Working collaboratively to develop and implement a strategic business plan and budget for the facility.This involves maximizing occupancy and ensuring prudent cost controls across all departments while upholding quality standards.Collaborate directly with the Finance Controller (FC) and the finance department to ensure the punctual submission of financial information.Foster collaboration with other departments to facilitate effective interdisciplinary care.Ensuring strict compliance with all regulatory requirements pertinent to the nursing home setting.Minimum 3 years of experience within last 6 years, in a leadership role in a Nursing home.Essential CriteriaRegistered on the Live Register in the General Division of the Register of Nurses as maintained by the NMBI.Management Qualification.Minimum 3 years of experience within last 6 years, in a leadership role in a Nursing home.Strong understanding of nursing practices, HIQA regulations, and industry trends.Have a full understanding of the National Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People.Have wide general nursing experience and proven leadership qualities.Have experience/qualification in Gerontology.Evidence of consistent updating of clinical skills and knowledge.Demonstrable coaching & development skills within clinical practice.Competent and confident IT skills.Has worked with or has a knowledge of caring for people with dementia.Key CompetenciesExcellent organisational skills, self-motivated and self-starter.Excellent verbal and communication skills.Willingness to learn and work as part of a multi departmental team.Dedicated, reliable and flexible approach to work.Ability to set high personal standards of performance and delivery of desired results.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.Ability to work on your own initiative.Responsible and mature approach to work.Closing Date: Wednesday 19th February, 2025Contract Type: Full timeSalary: Based on Experience
