Job Purpose:
The Goods Inwards Person is responsible for undertaking warehouse tasks as required by the Site Manager. This includes various aspects of warehouse operations, such as layout, cleanliness, stock management, goods inwards and outwards, transfers, docket system, and all associated practices related to a warehouse role.
Key Responsibilities:
* To check and record the quality and quantity of goods inwards as per purchasing requirements and according to the goods receiving procedure.
* To maintain and merchandise the stock room in an orderly fashion and in compliance with food safety regulations.
* Responsible for the management of goods inwards, stocks, and stock management, including weekly stocktakes.
* Responsible for paperwork and administration while ensuring hygiene and cleaning standards are kept to the highest level, in line with QSC requirements and HACCP.
* To ensure the correct storage and documentation of returns are maintained.
* To be familiar with all Health & Safety Regulations about your department and to report any breaches to store management.
Additional Duties:
* Reports and responds to requests from the Goods Inwards Supervisor and carries out several proactive and reactive warehouse tasks daily.
* Must be flexible and able to work in all areas as needed and at short notice.
* Conscious of safety for self, other colleagues, and customers.
Work Environment:
The job requires working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with prolonged periods without sitting down.
