The primary role of the Environmental Health and Safety Officer will include -
* Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure safety and company guidelines are followed, reporting findings to the Head of EHS.
* Review and assist with sub-contractor Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
* Support the Head of EHS with various tasks and initiatives.
* Ensure all site personnel comply with safety and company regulations.
* Implement and maintain the company’s Safety Management System.
* Identify training needs and report them to the Project Head of EHS.
* Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, on-site training, and safety programs.
* Organize and lead safety meetings.
* Develop and standardize EHS procedures to ensure consistency and continuous improvement.
* Maintain and assess sub-contractor insurance, safety policies, and method statements.
* Assist in accident and incident investigations, helping to reduce workplace injuries and improve safety measures.
* Submit weekly reports on EHS activities.
* Advise and support site teams in preparing Safe Plans of Action.
* Promote a strong safety culture and support corporate EHS initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with all safety laws, regulations, and company policies.
* Collaborate within a dynamic team to support engineering and construction projects.
* Identify risks early and take action to resolve or escalate them.
* Uphold company standards in customer care.
* Align EHS strategies with company goals and manage EHS programs.
* Oversee and enforce EHS policies across the business.
* Monitor and report on EHS performance to ensure compliance with business standards.
Qualifications
* Relevant 3rd Level EHS qualification essential.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role is essential.
* Experience working in the Construction Sector desired.
* Proficiency in using Microsoft Office required.
* Excellent organisational and planning skills.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate and work well in a team environment.
