We are seeking an innovative and forward-thinking Business Intelligence / Database Engineer passionate about building a world-class platform through a world-class team. You will be a hands-on technical contributor, responsible for delivering world-class, performant and scalable Business Intelligence (BI) reports by using modern reporting tools and your knowledge of SQL-based relational and non-relational data stores and queries.
What You’ll Do:
Optimize and improve existing data queries, ETL designs, database structures, and reports
Develop new reports, dashboards, universes, and extracts for both internal and external users
Monitor report performance and design and implement appropriate corrective actions for improvements as needed
Participate in the evaluation of future reporting tools, platforms, and designs
Assist with the planning and implementation of databases and reporting tools as required
Work closely with Data Engineers, DBAs, and software engineers in the design and construction of data related deliverables including databases, data lakes, reports, and dashboards.
Document all work as appropriate
Maintain all work within the standards of our compliance policies, and operational policies
Who You Are:
A technologist with demonstrable experience in and around the Business Intelligence, reporting, database, and data lake solution space
You love to learn new technology, and have a solid base of existing experience with data lake and data warehouse platforms and technologies (such as: AWS Kinesis, Kafka, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, etc.)
You are a troubleshooter at heart; you can identify and solve for data-related performance and quality issues in high pressure situations
You can work as part of an international team
You thrive on creating innovative solutions
You love tackling challenges with creative ideas
You write stellar code that wows and performs
Essential Knowledge / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience, with at least 5 years of experience designing and implementing data solutions, reports, dashboards etc. as a Data Analyst, BI Developer, Data Engineer, Report Developer, etc.
Proficient with ETL / data movement approaches and tooling
Proven ability to influence and mentor others within an agile team environment
2+ years of experience specific to report development and optimization leveraging industry standard tooling and platforms (which might include: SSRS, PowerBI, Oracle Analytics, Tableau, Izenda, etc.)
Highly proficient in Microsoft SQL Server database development
Highly accomplished with query construction and optimization
Experience in the financial industry is a plus
Experience specific to Izenda is a plus
