Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Risk and Control function in Aviva Life & Pensions. This is a 24-month fixed-term contract role that will assist the Governance and Control Manager in embedding risk and control within ALPI's first-line functions, enabling managers to effectively manage this aspect of their business.
About the Role
This exciting opportunity is ideal for individuals with experience working in a risk and control environment within a large financial institution or professional practice. You will be responsible for taking personal ownership in delivering a significant and sustained strengthening of governance, controls, risk management, and good customer outcomes, underpinned by a culture of risk awareness and accountability.
Main Responsibilities
* Supporting Risk Champions as an escalation point
* Identifying trends in Risk Events and Issues and highlighting to G&A for review
* Oversight of internal team reporting, including identification of key trends and concerns to address within the business
* Oversight of Risk Events, Errors, and Breaches, including regular reporting and sampling of lessons learned and root cause analysis

* Ability to analyze data and make it easy to interpret
* Stakeholder management at a senior level
* A versatile team player, able to operate with minimal supervision, with the ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility for decision-making
* Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to effectively prioritize workloads and work to critical deadlines
