As a Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of mechanical components and systems for advanced medical devices. You will work with cross-functional teams, vendors, and automation specialists to drive innovation, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high-quality product development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Detail Design & Development:
o Create and refine 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications for automated systems.
o Perform tolerance analysis and design for manufacturability (DFM) to ensure product reliability.
o Work on prototyping, testing, and validation of designs.
2. Automation & Support:
o Assist in the development and implementation of automation solutions for manufacturing and testing.
o Provide administrative support for automation tools and software systems.
o Work closely with the automation team to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
3. Debugging & Problem Solving:
o Identify, analyze, and resolve mechanical and automation-related issues in the projects.
o Use root-cause analysis methods to diagnose and correct design and system failures.
4. Collaboration & Vendor Management:
o Work with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality components and materials.
o Communicate technical requirements and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, quality assurance, and manufacturing.
5. Communication & Documentation:
o Clearly communicate ideas, technical concepts, and project updates to team members and stakeholders.
o Maintain detailed design documentation, reports, and test results for regulatory compliance.
o Present findings and technical updates to management and project teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD).
* Experience with new program development, automation tools, and industrial control systems.
* Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in mechanical and automated systems.
* Familiarity with manufacturing processes, material selection, and DFM principles.
* Strong communication skills to interact with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.
* Experience in working with vendors and supply chain management.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of automation tools and programming (PLC, Python, LabVIEW, etc.).
* Understanding of medical device regulations (ISO 13485, FDA guidelines).
* Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
