Job Title: Speech & Language Therapy Assistant
Location: Kildare Town and Athy, Co. Kildare
The successful candidate will join an established Interdisciplinary team, providing quality, evidence-based and family-centred supports for children and young people aged 0-18 years, who present with complex needs within an interdisciplinary framework, to support their development and enable active participation in community life.
This role includes clinical and administrative duties that support Speech and Language Therapists in providing a high-quality service to users.
Responsibilities:
* Follow plans as determined and delegated by a Speech and Language Therapist including assisting in the provision of education and advice on the use of enabling equipment.
* Collaborate with the child/young person, their family, carers and other staff in the provision of support and advice.
* Carry out duties related to the planning, organisation and maintenance of Speech and Language Therapy programmes.
* Maintain accurate records of service user assessments and interventions and maintain clinical notes relating to clinical work in service user files in accordance with local service protocols.
* Maintain professional standards in relation to consent, confidentiality, ethics and legislation.
* Carry out the administrative and clerical duties required to support the Speech and Language Therapy staff and the Speech and Language Therapy department.
Requirements:
* Minimum FETAC Level 5 qualification in Speech & Language Therapy/Social Care/relevant area.
* Minimum 2 years experience working in a social care/intellectual disability setting with children and young people.
* A good understanding of the role of the Speech and Language Therapist Assistant.
* Knowledge of the Speech and Language Therapy service in the CDNT.
* Competent computer and administrative skills.
* Own transport and a Full, Clean Drivers Licence.
Salary: €34,434 - €38,813 (DOE)
