Role Purpose The starting point of operational efficiency begins with best practice methodology and execution.
As Business Specialist your role will be key in the delivery of this, ensuring that all business plans, process improvements and technological solutions are supported, monitored and actioned as appropriate within An Post Commerce (APC).
You will bring your technical expertise to create dashboards, manipulate, analyse, visualise and report on information to enable you to make recommendations and to support business decision making across An Post Commerce operations.
Based in Dublin, this role will work with a diverse team of specialists and experts.
You will report to the Performance Manager, who is responsible for defining and monitoring the key performance metrics that enables our business to maintain an efficient, effective high standard of service.
The primary focus of your role will be on supporting the delivery of efficient operational improvement initiatives and roll out.
Responsibilities The primary accountabilities associated with this role include but are not limited to the following: Analyse and interrogate data and information identifying opportunities for improvements in efficiencies and effectiveness.
Play an active role in the creation of KPI reporting and work with the business units in Ops to understand and identify trends and action plans Work cross-functionally with all Operations teams within APC regarding design criteria, challenges in operations and understanding the elements required for efficient outputs.
Create multiple process and improvement plans for the APC group in line with the APC business strategy.
Act as an internal consultant and project lead in relevant project groups as required.
Project and Programme Management analysis, providing relevant reports and articulating data relevant to the intended audience.
Support the APC Operations with business plans, user documentation, defining processes and solution groups.
Demonstrate and champion An Post values and behaviours.
Knowledge & Experience You will have at least 5 years experience working in a process engineering, operational efficiency or business analyst role.
Experience in project management will also prove beneficial to success in this position.
Ideally, though not essential, you will hold a (Level 6) qualification in either analytics, project management or process engineering.
You have proven experience collecting, collating, organising, analysing and disseminating significant amounts of information to produce efficient and effective reports, designs and plans.
You must be confident using Power BI and Oracle Analytics as well as being an advanced Microsoft Excel user, capable of creating formulas, pivot tables, macros and slicers etc.
You bring a methodical and logical approach to your work and to problem solving.
You enjoy interacting and engaging with stakeholders, using your strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain excellent relationships across multiple business functions.
You are adept at report writing and communicating findings at the appropriate level to the relevant audience.
Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise are critical skills required for this role.
The ability to observe (based on site visits), learn and translate how an operational environment can be examined statistically is critical.
