Automation Maintenance Technician
This role is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established Irish-owned company in Co. Offaly as an Automation Maintenance Technician.
About the Role
You will be reporting to the Maintenance Manager and responsible for generating and maintaining assets, achieving challenging targets across key areas such as maintenance, engineering, commercial performance, safety, environmental standards, quality, and personal development.
This permanent position is based on a day shift, Monday to Friday, with hours consisting of 8am-4:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure that maintenance plans and targets are met safely, cost-effectively, and within environmental limits.
* Conduct preventive maintenance and other tasks, maintain records in the Maintenance Management System, and oversee quality documentation.
* Perform preventative maintenance on control and instrumentation systems, including calibrating process instruments (e.g., pH, pressure, flow, level, and temperature).
* Maintain stack emission monitoring equipment and support IT infrastructure locally.
* Install, modify, and maintain instruments, SCADA systems, PLC controllers, and plant automation systems.
* Collaborate with contractors for commissioning new projects, resolve automation issues, and manage vendor and contractor activities on-site when necessary.
* Adhere to company health, safety, and welfare provisions and actively participate in the Performance Management process.
Requirements
* A technical qualification, such as a Bachelor of Technology or an equivalent degree.
* A recognised apprenticeship.
* A minimum of 5 years experience in maintaining heavy process industries or power plants.
* Strong IT proficiency and the ability to think logically and solve problems using first principles.
