Design Manager
CREGG is currently hiring for a Design Manager to join a globally recognized leader in fire protection systems.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage Design Engineers & CAD Technicians across multiple projects.
* Oversee problem-solving and resolution of design and coordination challenges.
* Manage drawing standards, specifications, and LCBP accreditation processes.
* Develop, update, and enforce Design SOPs, manuals, and procedures in compliance with regulations.
* Plan and schedule upcoming work, providing updates to relevant departments.
* Track, monitor, and update design progress in project management systems.
* Implement standard design tools to improve project efficiency.
* Support Design Engineers in passing audits and inspections.
* Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance, engagement, and development of team members.
* Ensure workforce planning aligns with staffing needs.
* Develop and maintain job descriptions and key competencies.
* Assess and deliver training, including onboarding and technical upskilling.
* Foster a high-performance team culture through mentoring and capability-building.
* Take ownership of team performance, collaborating with management to address issues.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders and ensure documentation accuracy.
* Promote a strong HSEQ culture and support CSR initiative.
* Engage proactively in company initiatives and maintain best practices.
Key Requirements:
* Fire Sprinkler Design Experience
* Desirable Experience using Revit
* Experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling) workflows
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to prioritise work and manage challenging workload
* Flexible, adaptable, and can-do attitude to work
* Proven record of building and sustaining effective and professional working relationships; being a trusted advisor to colleagues
* Excellent time management, attention to detail, and reliability skills.
* Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in leading and managing design teams.
* Strong knowledge of design software such as Revit, Solid Works, or similar tools.
* Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
* LPCB - Basic, Intermediate and FHC Exams desirable.
