Job Title
Responsible for maintaining and preparing accurate accounting ledgers, providing analysis and management information to various stakeholders, and supporting the production of the annual financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintaining accurate TBs/accounting ledgers.
* Ensuring the accuracy of dashboards (balance sheet and bank), including review and sign off of bank reconciliations.
* Preparing quarterly reporting packs, including variance analysis to prior year/quarter positions and business forecasts.
* Implementing quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting through a robust balance sheet review process.
* Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring data audit trails to source systems are understood.
* Conducting analytical reviews of financial information, close liaison with the Management Information team.
* Supporting the preparation of annual audited financial statements and ensuring timely submission to internal boards and governance forums.
* Liaising with the Group Reporting team to ensure all analysis and information is made available to support the Group consolidation.
* Liaising with the Regulatory Reporting team to provide all necessary CBI reporting information and support the submission of returns to the CBI.
* Managing and developing the reporting team while also ensuring effective cross-training.
* Contributing to finance projects and process improvements to ensure they drive efficiency and align with the finance systems strategy.
Personal Specification:
* Education and Qualifications: Qualified accountant (ACCA/CA/CIMA qualified)
* Knowledge of insurance company accounting
* Experience in a technical accounting environment
* Experience with multiple currency ledgers
* Experience operating in a complex data and systems control environment
* Experience managing people
* Skills: Financial Accounting, Financial Statements, General Insurance
