Job Description Summary: Manufacturing Technician - NPI Pharma Tech Operations Location: AbbVie Westport, Co. Mayo Role: Manufacturing Technician Overview: AbbVie is seeking skilled Manufacturing Technicians to join the NPI Pharma Tech Operations team to support new product introductions (NPIs), including clinical manufacturing of both small and large molecule pharmaceuticals. This role requires involvement in manufacturing, biologic drug product commercial support, and project management for new products. Key Responsibilities: Manufacturing Operations: Manufacture pharmaceutical products at various lifecycle stages (clinical, non-clinical, pre-clinical). Prepare batches through vial washing, sterilization, and area preparation. Perform aseptic manufacturing, compounding, sterile filtration, and filling. Prepare components and equipment for processing in Grade A environments. Execute environmental monitoring. Technology & Process Support: Collaborate with vendors to develop and improve single-use technologies. Operate and troubleshoot multi-product suites to ensure seamless product campaign transitions. Contribute to autoclave sterilization, depyrogenation, filter integrity testing, and lyophilization processes. Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with GMP and SOP standards. Review and contribute to technical documentation, including protocols, reports, and manufacturing documents. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Validation teams. Support and adhere to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards. Shifts: This is a 12-hour rotational shift role covering days, nights, and weekends. Qualifications: Required Experience: 3rd level qualification in a relevant discipline OR a minimum of 12-18 months in the pharmaceutical/medical device industry. Experience in cleanroom environments and aseptic practices. Familiarity with GMP guidelines and quality systems. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of autoclave sterilization, filter integrity testing, lyophilization, and single-use technologies. Technical writing, organizational, and communication skills.
