Principal Ecologist
A dynamic role for an experienced Principal Ecologist to join our team, working nationwide with a hybrid model of work that includes office, fieldwork and home office arrangements.
Responsibilities
* Manage individual contracts to deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services
* Provide expert ecological input for various projects
* Plan, conduct, and supervise site ecological surveys and fieldwork
* Develop and implement Construction Environmental Management Plans
* Conduct Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and other environmental reporting requirements
* Prepare technical reports and other deliverables
* Maintain quality by ensuring attention to detail, accuracy, timely delivery of contracts, and striving for excellence in the Ecology Team's work
* Act as an expert witness at Oral Hearings
* Build strong relationships with clients and participate in meetings when necessary
Requirements
* Degree in ecology or related subject
* At least 10 years of post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy
* Member of CIEEM, CIWEM or equivalent professional body
* Experience in oral hearing process and expert witness role
* Detailed knowledge of wildlife and conservation legislation in Ireland
* Excellent technical report writing skills
* Experience in preparing and monitoring Construction Environmental Management Plans
* Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
* Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills
* Full clean driving license
