Americold – Helping our customers Feed the WorldHere at Americold Castleblayney we are now recruiting for an Assistant Maintenance Manager Ireland.The Assistant Maintenance Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive support and guidance across all sites on the Island of Ireland, ensuring effective maintenance of buildings, industrial refrigeration systems, MV and LV electrical systems, racking, material handling equipment (MHE), building management systems, and life safety systems. This role plays a crucial part in advancing Facility Services initiatives and driving continuous improvement by offering mentorship and support to Facility Maintenance Coordinators, Maintenance Supervisors, and Technicians within the country. The Assistant Maintenance Manager ensures that all facilities operate safely, effectively, and in full compliance with Americold standards and policies. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisors, Site General Managers, the QHSE Team, and Operations to identify and address maintenance requirements essential for efficient and reliable equipment operations. The role includes leading initiatives to improve key performance metrics, such as preventive maintenance (PM) completion rates, scheduled work percentages, equipment downtime, energy usage, budget adherence, and documentation rates. As a champion and leader for Americold Operating System (AOS) maturity in Refrigeration, Energy, and Maintenance Excellence initiatives, the Assistant Maintenance Manager fulfils all duties according to Americold leader standardized work requirements. The Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the Engineering and Maintenance Manager IOI in project development and execution by reviewing new project plans, discussing equipment needs and potential modifications with stakeholders, and coordinating the activities of technicians and contractors. Additionally, the position entails evaluating site-specific maintenance resource requirements and making recommendations regarding headcount, scheduling, skill levels, training needs, and necessary maintenance tools. In partnership with the Engineering and Maintenance Manager you will ensure that each site complies with statutory and regulatory standards as well as Americold policies and procedures. This includes ensuring compliance with all regulations governing refrigeration, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and life safety across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Supporting energy conservation initiatives across the country, you will work to help reduce operational costs and drive sustainability.
