Job Title: Social Care Manager
Location: Carndonagh, Co Donegal
Contract: Permanent, 39 hours
Job Purpose
The Manager shall be responsible for the development, management and continuous monitoring of the service ensuring compliance with The National Standards for Residential Services for children and adults with disabilities. To ensure the service is of high quality and provides a safe supportive and therapeutic environment where service users' rights are upheld and reflected in the overall service delivery.
Minimum Education & Skills Required
1. An appropriate third level qualification or equivalent (NFQ8) in Health and Social Care management.
2. A minimum of 3 years' experience in a management or supervisory role in the area of health or social care.
3. Experience of ensuring services are run in accordance with HIQA regulations.
4. Experience as a leader with strong operational and general management competency.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
1. To develop and manage the residential service for children ensuring full compliance with the National Standards for Children's Residential services and Child First Guidelines.
2. To ensure that the rights of the child are reflected in all policies, procedures and care practices within the service and to ensure all standards are maintained, reviewed and enhanced as required.
3. To plan, coordinate and develop a range of programmes in line with each child and their care plan.
Additional Requirements
1. Flexibly adapt to take on other reasonable duties/projects if required by the ISM.
2. Be action-oriented; enjoying working hard and seeking challenges with an ability to act and react as required, even in circumstances of limited/incomplete information.
3. Be flexible regarding working hours and travel in order to meet the operational needs of the service and organisation.
4. Participate in an on-call rota, as required.
