Role: Financial Controller The Financial Controller will blend big picture strategic and structured thinking with a hands-on approach towards their responsibility for all accounting, financial, taxation and compliance aspects of the company's business.
This involves supporting the Head of Finance in analysing financial and operational performance, advising management on these findings and proposing recommendations for increasing the company's efficiency and profitability.
The Financial Controller will work closely with all teams across NEC Aspire (Sales, Technology, Operations, HR and Legal) as well as colleagues in NEC as required.
The ideal candidate will have the highest level of integrity, an excellent work ethic, taking a pragmatic and structured approach, and the ability to perform professionally in a fast-paced environment, coaching colleagues in the Finance team.
Your responsibilities include: Provide support to the Head of Finance with ongoing development of the Finance teamSupport the Head of Finance in the provision of commercial recommendations to the management teamInput into tactical and strategic business, operational and financial planningSupport the Head of Finance with preparation of Board Reports and monthly/ad hoc reporting for internal and external stakeholdersLead the preparation and ongoing management of annual budgets and forecastingImplement robust financial controls and reporting systemsSupport the preparation of monthly management accounts, monthly variance analysis & operational KPIs, and compliance reporting to Head OfficeManage prudent revenue recognition policies & revenue assurance reporting supporting the Sales teamLead on cashflow management and forecasting of working capital requirementsLead the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with auditors on audit & corporate taxationAssist the Head of Finance in managing other funding sources - grants, leasing, loans etcEnsure regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met - Revenue Commissioners, CSO, CRO returnsEstablish and develop strong relations with senior management in Dublin, Belgrade and Lisbon and external partnersRequired Education/Experience Highly motivated qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)5+ years post qualification experienceA high degree of commercial awareness with excellent analytical, technical and IT skillsAble to 'think big' and operate with a 'hands-on' approach and ability to use initiativeExcellent time management and organization skills, with the ability to prioritise workloadExperience in the services/software/technology industry is highly desirable and a bias towards telecom industry experience is preferableExcellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and excellent presentation skillsAbility and comfort working with and maximising rudimentary systemsStrong problem-solving skills with pragmatic approach and time management skillsStrong accounts preparation & business analysis experience requiredStrong attention to detail and the ability to multi-taskAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPrevious experience in a high growth or multinational company would be an advantageAdvanced MS Excel & PowerPoint knowledgeSystem modelling skills are advantageousExperience working with Japanese Head office is advantageous.Benefits At NEC Aspire Technology you can expect:
