Sustainable Environmental Sustainability Advisor
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Sustainability Advisor to join our team in Head Office, Kill, Co. Kildare.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Embed yourself with the design and construction team from concept design through to delivery.
* Stay up-to-date with emerging sustainability trends and innovations in the construction industry.
* Environmental Auditing and Inspections.
* Draft and implement site-specific Waste Management Plans.
* Conduct site inspections as necessary and complete Environment and Social Risk Assessments.
* Understand and apply current and proposed Environmental & Sustainability related legislation (Building and Planning regulations).
* Ensure compliance with the Construction Phase ESMP and the existing Site Waste Management Plan.
* Raise Close Calls to improve environmental and safety performance on site.
* Identify opportunities to reduce energy and water usage at our sites.
* Collate and submit monthly KPI data to the Client.
* Energy and environment auditing.
* Deliver energy management activities to reduce energy use and associated carbon.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and industry standards.
* Monitor, manage and help reduce water, waste and energy.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Civil Engineering or a related field.
* At least 3 years of experience in an environmental or sustainability role within construction or civil engineering.
* Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, carbon reduction strategies and circular economy principles.
* Experience with environmental management systems (ISO 14001) and sustainability reporting including carbon calculations.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to analyse data and provide strategic recommendations for sustainability improvements.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Previous experience of delivering environmental projects/programmes.
* Knowledge and experience of implementing Environmental Management standards.
* Continual improvement programme and project delivery experience.
* Experience drafting Management Plans and Risk Assessments.
* Excellent knowledge of the sustainability industry, able to identify and implement new technologies and systems to benefit the team, wider business and stakeholders.
* A strong technical background and experience of developing and delivering on a strategy to improve energy usage, carbon reduction and environmental sustainability.
