Our client, a leading company specialising in providing high-quality solutions within the engineering sector, is looking for a Financial Accountant to cover a 12-month Maternity Contract with the possibility of an extension.
This ideal accountant for this role has experience with audits, manufacturing, and project costing. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a key part in the ongoing development of financial processes and digitalisation projects. The role is fully onsite in Athboy Co Meath, with flexible start times from 7.30am. You will need your own transport to get to the office.
Key Responsibilities of Financial Accountant:
* Prepare accurate, consolidated monthly financial statements.
* Lead project and revenue accounting processes, ensuring compliance and clarity.
* Manage the nominal ledger, including intercompany reconciliations.
* Produce detailed factory utilisation and performance reports.
* Maintain and oversee the Fixed Asset Register.
* Ensure timely submission of VAT, Corporation Tax, and other statutory filings.
* Collaborate with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and banking partners.
* Coordinate audit deliverables and support the annual financial audit process.
* Mentor Finance team members and drive process improvements.
Ideal experience of Financial Accountant:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), with 3+ years’ post-qualification experience in a medium to large organisation.
* Solid experience with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage, NetSuite preferred).
* Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
* Excellent attention to detail, discretion, and commitment to data integrity.
* Self-motivated and proactive, with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
