Overview:
On behalf of our client, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer, we are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a dynamic and growing team. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and improving production equipment, utilities, and facility systems to ensure optimal performance, compliance with GMP standards, and minimal production downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out proactive maintenance of process, utility, and facility equipment in line with cGMP regulations, safety standards, SOPs, and reliability initiatives.
2. Troubleshoot and maintain drug product fill and finishing equipment.
3. Collaborate cross-functionally to continuously improve equipment reliability, facility operations, and team performance.
4. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance as permitted by the production schedule.
5. Assist and train production personnel on equipment setup and operation.
6. Coordinate and manage vendor support for maintenance tasks in a GMP-compliant manner.
7. Conduct root cause analyses and resolve equipment failures that impact production or cause excessive repair costs.
8. Ensure that all electrical, process, and utility systems are properly maintained and compliant.
9. Maintain a safe working environment through active safety engagement and thorough incident investigation when necessary.
10. Accurately record all maintenance activities within the company’s quality management system.
11. Support installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment.
12. Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards during maintenance activities.
13. Perform and document calibration activities and report any deficiencies.
14. Support cost-effective and timely procurement of critical spares and consumables.
15. Operate within the permit-to-work and other safety control systems for engineering activities.
Scope of Role:
The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring all equipment used in Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Facilities is maintained in a state of control to meet cGMP standards. This role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, cost management, and reduction of downtime by managing spares and consumables efficiently.
Qualifications & Experience:
A relevant third-level qualification in Engineering or a time-served apprenticeship.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a GMP-compliant environment, ideally involving drug product fill, finish, and packaging operations.
Strong understanding of maintenance systems, compliance requirements, and reliability engineering.
Key Relationships:
Work cross-functionally with production, quality, engineering, and external vendors to deliver safe, compliant, and reliable maintenance solutions.
Collaborate effectively as part of a project or improvement team.
