Aramark Food Services is currently recruiting for a Sous Chef to join our team in the Guinness Store House, located in the heart of the working St. James's Gate Brewery in Dublin.
This is a Full Time Role working 40 hours per week, requiring excellent organizational and leadership skills, as well as experience in managing kitchen operations and ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
Job Responsibilities
* Manage daily kitchen operations to meet client contract requirements.
* Familiarize yourself with company policies and procedures, and implement them daily to maintain high standards of Food Safety and Hygiene.
* Assist in designing menu cycles, ensuring innovation and variety while maintaining budgeted gross profit margins.
* Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and service are achieved and maintained at all times.
* Assist with food orders, using only approved suppliers to exploit negotiated costs.
* Share responsibility with the Head Chef for checking and signing food deliveries, ensuring only high-quality produce is accepted into the unit.
* Maintain the unit's adherence to relevant legislation, including Food Hygiene Regulations Act 1950 and 1971.
* Implement H.A.C.C.P procedures, maintaining records and conducting food safety checks within the kitchen and related areas.
* Assist with stock-takes, evaluating training needs of kitchen staff, and maintaining good communications with clients, customers, and staff.
* Review the kitchen hazard list weekly with the Head Chef, adhere to the Company Dress Code, and perform reasonable tasks assisting with service, food preparation, hygiene, safety, and other matters.
Key Requirements
* 1-2 years' experience in a professional kitchen or high-volume catering environment.
* Ability to manage kitchen operation in Head Chef's absence.
* Effective communication and people management skills.
* NVQ Level 1, 2 & 3 or equivalent qualification.
* Basic Food Hygiene skills and intermediate C.O.S.H.H awareness.
* Experience in purchasing, profit optimization, and industrial catering.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
